Warriors skipper Roger Tuivasa-Sheck's been granted an early release from his contract, and he'll return to New Zealand on Thursday

Warriors skipper Roger Tuivasa-Sheck's been granted an early release from his contract, and he'll return to New Zealand on Thursday

    - article from www.rugbyleague.co.nz

It's due to the Trans Tasman bubble pausing from Friday for two months.

It means Tuivasa-Sheck will be able to start his rugby union career with Auckland in the NPC competition and he'll miss the final six rounds of the NRL.

But he says the decision wasn't easy.

New Zealand is on the medal table at the Olympics and Hayden Wilde's coach always thought the 23 year old was a strong chance in the triathlon.

Wilde has won bronze, New Zealand's fourth ever triathlon medal and first since Bevan Docherty's bronze in Beijing in 2008.

Marcus Daniell comes up against his former partner in the second round of the men's doubles at the Tokyo Olympics this evening.

Daniell and Michael Venus play the Dutch pair of Jean-Julien Rojer and Wesley Koolhof for a place in the quarter finals.

The ice vest is likely to be the key piece of kit for mountain biker Anton Cooper as he counts down to the start of tonight's cross country race.

Cooper gets underway at 6 o'clock.
