Interim coach Stacey Jones has named Ronald Volkman to partner Shaun Johnson for this weekend's NRL clash with the table topping Panthers.
The 19 year old joined the club mid-season from the Sydney Roosters.
Daily Telegraph reporter David Riccio has told Fox Sports this is the first step in planning for life without Johnson.
Johnson is contracted through to the end of next year although there are rumblings he may not play on after this season.
