Breakers coach Petteri Koponen has given an assessment of their bleak Australian basketball league season after confirmation they're out of playoff contention

The Kiwi side have nine wins from 27 games despite winning four of their first five.

Centre Freddie Gillespie was released back in November when their record was seven-and-three.

Koponen says it's been an up and down season.
