A much-needed win for the Breakers to keep their NBL playoff hopes alive

A much-needed win for the Breakers to keep their NBL playoff hopes alive

They've held off the Illawarra Hawks 88-85 at Spark Arena.

Guard Parker Jackson-Cartwright led the way with 31 points and told Sky Sport he's proud of his team's fight.

Australia's men's cricketers aren't holding back on their upcoming test tour of New Zealand.

They've named a top-string side to face the Black Caps in two tests from the end of the month, in Wellington and Christchurch.

Pat Cummins leads a largely unchanged 14-man Aussie squad with all-rounder Michael Neser the only addition... Neser set to play his first test since 2022.

New Zealand meanwhile travel to Hamilton tomorrow morning ahead of the second match against South Africa on Tuesday... wicketkeeper Tom Blundell will leave Mount Maunganui with some happy memories after that big opening win.

Rameka Poihipi and Kaylum Boshier will refrain from being needlessly vocal in their new roles as vice-captains at the Chiefs.

The pair are getting their first taste of leadership under captain Luke Jacobson during their pre-season tour of Japan.

Poihipi says their philosophy starts with their own performances.

The Chiefs play the Kubota Spears tomorrow night.

And while the glamour Longest Day beckons for the country's elite multisport athletes tomorrow, a teenager's already taken first honours on the iconic Coast to Coast weekend.

Marlborough teenager Finn McKenzie was the fastest man home on today's leg of the two-day event into Klondike Corner.

Courtney Hawke was the first individual woman home.
