    The Tall Blacks are lamenting an opportunity lost in a 93-89 defeat to the Philippines in Manila as part of their Asia Cup basketball qualifying campaign


    New Zealand held the lead for nearly 20 minutes but the hosts surged in front during the third quarter as part of a 16-point scoring run.

    Captain Corey Webster top scored with 25 points.

    He admits an inability to push clear hurt morale.



    The Tall Blacks next face Chinese Taipei in Christchurch on Monday.
