    And in basketball's NBA ... the New York Knicks have edged the Detroit Pistons 118 to 116 on the road, in the playoffs


    The Pistons had an in-bound pass with half a second left to at least tie the game ... but blew it.

    The Knicks take a 2-1 lead over the Pistons, in the best-of-seven first-round Eastern Conference series.
