Australia and India's enthralling battle at the MCG has smashed the all-time attendance record for a Boxing Day Test

Australia and India's enthralling battle at the MCG has smashed the all-time attendance record for a Boxing Day Test

The previous mark of almost 272 thousand - set during the 2013-14 Ashes - was passed early on day four when a crowd of 30,500 were in the venue.

It continues a monster year for the MCG following three sold-out Taylor Swift concerts and the AFL season averaging 60,000 per-match.

The test itself sees India ripping into the Australian batting line-up.

The home side's 85 for FIVE in its second dig - Steven Smith, Travis Head and Mitch Marsh all falling in the last ten minutes...with Australia leading by 190 runs.
