    Several Black Caps will feature in the opening round of domestic cricket's Plunket Shield


    Northern Districts boast 10 current New Zealand internationals in their 13-man squad to play Canterbury in Christchurch, while their hosts have four.

    Martin Guptill, Jeet Raval and Will Somerville will line up for Auckland when they host the defending champion Central Stags, who also have three Black Caps, including veteran batsman Ross Taylor.

    Wellington and Otago have the services of Jimmy Neesham and Hamish Rutherford respectively for their match in the Capital.
