The last of West Indies cricket's three Ws has died

The last of West Indies cricket's three Ws has died

    Sir Everton Weekes was 95.

Alongside Sir Clyde Walcott and Sir Frank Worrell, he formed a formidable Windies batting line-up.

All made their test debuts within three weeks in 1948 and were born within 18 months of each other in Barbados.

Weekes finished with a test average of 58.61 and registered five successive test centuries in 1948, still the only batsman to do so.

He passed 1000 test runs in 12 innings - one fewer than Sir Don Bradman.
