Central Districts' Will Young has celebrated their tactics to win the men's Super Smash T20 cricket final in Wellington

Central Districts' Will Young has celebrated their tactics to win the men's Super Smash T20 cricket final in Wellington

They beat Canterbury by six wickets for their first title in the format for six years, chasing 136 with 16 balls to spare - the Kings lost their fifth consecutive final.

Young, who contributed 35 from 32 balls with the bat, says their decision to field helped.

Earlier, Wellington secured consecutive women's titles.

They won by eight runs, defending 104 for eight against Otago.
