    To the season finale in ice hockey's NHL..


    The defending champions have sealed the silverware with a 5-1 home victory over Edmonton in game six - on ESPN.

    The result wraps up a 4-2 series triumph for the Panthers - in what was a rematch of last year's Stanley Cup Finals against the Oilers.

    It also extends the title drought for Canadian teams to 32 years.

    The last team from north of the border to be crowned champions was the Montreal Canadiens in 1993.
