Eliza McCartney's injuries and health issues over the past few years have emotionally taken a toll

The Kiwi pole vaulter, who claimed bronze at the Rio 2016 Olympics, has failed to reach the 4.7 metre qualification mark at her third and final qualifying event in Auckland.

Although she's disappointed, McCartney says she's looking forward to stepping away from the sport for a while.
