A stoush is brewing in the Black Ferns after their winless end-of-year tour to Europe

A stoush is brewing in the Black Ferns after their winless end-of-year tour to Europe

Hooker Te Kura Ngata Aerengamate's claims verbal abuse from the team's coaching staff led to her having a mental breakdown.

She's taken to social media with a post outlining the anxiety and struggles created from the comments.

The veteran claims, among other examples, to have been told she was only picked in the squad "to play the guitar".

She says the comments led to her needing anger management counselling, and hyperventilating for the first time in her life.

New Zealand Rugby has been approached for comment.
