The Crusaders are tipped to unveil midfielder David Havili as the Super Rugby side's new captain later this week

The New Zealand Herald reports Havili is understood to have been appointed captain over other contenders like Codie Taylor and Tom Christie and will be named as the side's new captain on Wednesday.

Coach Rob Penney announced late last year that Scott Barrett, who has led the Crusaders since 2020, would be replaced after his ascension to All Blacks skipper.
