Beauden Barrett has underlined why he believes Super Rugby should open its arms again to Japan

Now an elder statesman of the competition - having debuted in 2011 - Barrett says the lack of mini-tours has hurt the development of players compared to overseas leagues.

Six days out from competition kickoff, Barrett, who's spent two separate seasons in Japan in 2021 and 2024, says the competition could benefit from established Japanese sides.
