Boxer Mea Motu's shot at becoming New Zealand's first unified world champion is back on

Boxer Mea Motu's shot at becoming New Zealand's first unified world champion is back on

The unbeaten Peach Boxing super bantamweight will attempt to add the IBF and Ring Magazine titles to the IBO belt she already holds when she challenges Ellie Scotney in Nottingham on January 25.

The two unbeaten fighters were scheduled to square off in Manchester on October 27 - but the British fighter pulled out, citing an injury.

After the postponement - Motu took a late-notice non-title fight against Australian Shannon O'Connell on October 4, scoring a fourth-round stoppage in Sydney.

Motu is 20-and-oh as a professional, Scotney is nine-from-nine.
