Former All Blacks' first five Richie Mo'unga has been ruled out of the Australia-New Zealand Invitational side to play the British and Irish Lions

Former All Blacks' first five Richie Mo'unga has been ruled out of the Australia-New Zealand Invitational side to play the British and Irish Lions

Mo'unga broke his hand playing for Toshiba Brave Lupus in the Japanese season and while he played through the pain in the final a fortnight ago, the Sydney Morning Herald report he's not recovered enough to play for the composite Trans-Tasman team.

Don't play the final early is Damian McKenzie's Monday mantra to his Chiefs teammates ahead of the Super Rugby decider against the Crusaders in Christchurch.

The Chiefs have lost finals in 2021, 2023 and 2024 and McKenzie says you can't let the final play out in your head too early.

Australian Angus Gardner has been appointed to referee the match.
