While she might not be the tallest in the defensive circle Oceane Maihi's still leaping to new heights this ANZ Premiership season

The Stars defender was a standout performer during their loss to the Mystics - making six gains and pulling in four intercepts in her first full game of the season.

Maihi says being a smaller defender means she's had to optimise her speed and agility.

The Stars host the Pulse in Auckland this evening.

    Centre pass is at 6:15pm.
