Rookie Mainland Tactix netball coach Donna Wilkins has been praised by one of her fiercest rivals, who's also a close friend

Fellow first-year coach Wendy Frew is impressed with how Wilkins has all but clinched an ANZ Premiership playoff spot with two rounds remaining.

Frew's been guiding the Southern Steel and appreciates just how difficult the coaching gig is.



Frew believes her Steel will need to win both remaining matches to potentially sneak into the top-three playoffs.
