Shane van Gisbergen has claimed victory in race 18 of the Supercars Championship in Townsville

Shane van Gisbergen has claimed victory in race 18 of the Supercars Championship in Townsville

The Kiwi was able to get ahead of teammate Jamie Whincup through the pit stops, by taking on two less tyres to do so.

van Gisbergen says it's the best possible result as it sets him up for the next race this afternoon.

van Gisbergen will start from second behind Cam Waters when Race 19 begins at 5.40pm.
