    American skier Mikaela Shiffrin has secured a giant slalom double in Austria to claim her 79th World Cup victory


    The result moves her to within three wins of compatriot Lindsey Vonn's women's record of 82.

    Shiffrin clocked a combined time of two minutes 3.51 seconds to triumph by 0.1 of a second overall.

    New Zealander Alice Robinson failed to finish the first run.
