    Snowboarder Cam Melville Ives has finished eighth in qualifying to advance to the final of the halfpipe at the Milan-Cortina Olympics


    The 19-year-old failed to improve on an 84.75 opening effort with his second and last run.

    That made for a nervous wait to see if he'd make the top 12 to compete in Saturday morning's decider.

    Melville Ives has stated his ambitions when he next drops in.
