    State Highway 2 in Upper Hutt has re-opened after a two serious crashes


    Emergency services were called to a two-vehicle crash between Fergusson Drive and Totara Park Road just before 6 last night.

    A Police car on its way to the scene was then involved in a three-car crash near Gibbons Street.

    Meanwhile, State Highway 1 north of Invercargill has also re-opened.

    A truck hit a power pole near the intersection with Grace Street just before 6pm, and the damaged pole required repairs.
