Dame Judi Dench has framed her earring which Johnny Depp ripped out with his teeth

The 90-year-old actress made a cameo appearance in Depp's 2011 blockbuster Caribbean: On Stranger Tides in a memorable scene in which his character Captain Jack Sparrow jumps into a carriage and steals her jewellery - and Dench has revealed she kept the earring the actor bit off and had it framed.

The earring now sits on a wall in her home. Dench told Radio Times magazine: "Up there is a framed earring that he bit off my ear in Pirates of the Caribbean ...
"Well, of course, he had to. I had to sit in a carriage in Greenwich and they said: 'Johnny Depp will jump in through the window, give you a kiss and jump out.'
"He jumped in, but he didn't give me a kiss, he went for my ear and took my earring off with his teeth. And I said: 'Is that it?' and that is actually kept in."
Dench admitted she was disappointed not to have gotten a kiss from Depp but she was happy to have shared a scene with him.
When asked if that scene was "a bit of a moment", Dench replied: "Well, of course Johnny Depp, he's [hot]."
In the interview, Dench went on to talk about her plans for Christmas revealing she will be spending the day with her daughter, Finty, her grandson Sammy and his girlfriend, Lizzie.
She said of the big day: "If you are lucky enough to be together with the family, round the table, then that’s what. I like best. A group of people talking, exchanging things and delighting in each other. There’s nothing better than that."
It comes after the actress admitted she "can’t recognise anybody now" as her sight continues to deteriorate.
Dench suffers from macular degeneration - which can cause permanent and rapid central vision loss and is the number one cause of sight problems in people over 50 - and she's revealed the condition has become so advanced she now struggles to recognise friends and loves ones.
In an interview with ITV alongside her friend Sir Ian McKellen, Judi was asked why she's now rarely seen on screen and she replied: "I can’t see anymore. I’ve got, you know, that thing." She then added to Ian: "I can see your outline and I know you so well in your Macbeth scarf. But I can’t recognise anybody now … I can’t see the television, I can’t see to read."
Ian then joked: "But do you go up to total strangers and say: 'Lovely to see you again?'" and Judi replied: "Sometimes."
