One Battle After Another and Adolescence were the big winners at Sunday's Golden Globe Awards

In the movie categories, the black comedy-thriller scooped the coveted Best Film - Musical or Comedy accolade, while Teyana Taylor was named Best Supporting Female Actor, and Paul Thomas Anderson won both Best Director and Best Screenplay.

Speaking as he accepted the Best Director award, he said: "You guys are being so generous with this affection for me and this film, and I'll take it - I'll take it with the love that it's given and the appreciation. I love doing what I do. So this is just fun."

Meanwhile, Hamnet won the prestigious Best Film - Drama, and its star Jessie Buckley took home the Best Female Actor - Drama award.

The Secret Agent also took two awards, Best Non-English Language Film and Best Male Actor - Drama for Wagner Moura.

Best Male and Female Actor - Musical or Comedy went to Marty Supreme star Timothee Chalamet and If I Had Legs, I'd Kick You actress Rose Byrne respectively, while the Best Supporting Male Actor trophy was given to Sentimental Value's Stellan Skarsgaard.

KPop Demon Hunters was named Best Animated Film and the Cinematic and Box Office Achievement prize was awarded to Sinners.

Accepting the latter award, director Ryan Coogler said: "We don't always, when we work in the film business, wear tuxedos and get glammed-out. It's usually a grind.

"It was an honour on this movie to know that it was getting a theatrical release. We would remind people every day, in the dog days of summer in New Orleans - we would say, 'Hey, big movie. People are going to see this - big theatre.'

"We didn't know that they would show up, so we just want to say thank you that they did. It meant the world to us."

Meanwhile in the TV categories at the ceremony - which was hosted by Nikki Glaser at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles - Adolescence scooped Best Limited Series, Anthology Series, or Television Motion Picture, and stars Stephen Graham, Owen Cooper and Erin Doherty bagged acting honours, taking Best Male Actor in a Limited Series, Anthology Series, or a Motion Picture Made for Television, Best Supporting Male Actor and Best Supporting Female Actor respectively.

The Studio had a double win, with Seth Rogen named Best Male Actor - Comedy or Musical and the show also taking Best Musical or Comedy Series.

Best Female Actor - Comedy or Musical went to Jean Smart for the third time, prompting her to say: "What can I say, I'm a greedy b****".

Best Drama Series went to The Pitt, with Best Male Actor - Drama going to the medical saga's star Noah Wyle. Best Female Actor - Drama was won by Pluribus' Rhea Seahorn.

Best Female Actor in a Limited Series, Anthology Series, or a Motion Picture Made for Television was won by Dying for Sex star Michelle Williams - who wasn't in attendance - while Amy Schumer won the first ever Best Podcast award for her series Good Hang.
