Martha Stewart wears make-up to the gym just in case she meets a man

The 84-year-old TV star admits that she's always very conscious of her appearance whenever she goes to the gym.

Martha said on In Bed with Paige DeSorbo: "I go to the gym every morning at 6:30, so I have to be out of the house at 6:15. I set my alarm for 5:45, that gives me time to take a shower [and] make the cappuccino for me and my driver."

Asked if she really needs to shower before the gym, Martha replied: "I never go to the gym without showering, ever.

"I would never go anywhere, I would not leave the second floor of my house without showering."

Martha always wears make-up, too, just in case she meets a potential partner.

She explained: "I look really good. I have to because there's men in the gym. And there's other people that might see me, and I do not want to look awful."

In 2023, Martha appeared on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition.

The TV star previously admitted to feeling proud of her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover - but it wasn't something she ever imagined doing.

Martha told Entertainment Tonight: "I was just surprised because I've done so many other things I didn't expect to be topping with this."

The TV star has become increasingly focused on her health and her diet in recent years.

But Martha insisted she isn't interested in getting any plastic surgery.

She said: "I think the world has embraced the fact that you can be whoever you are whenever you want to be it.

"That's really what I think is helping. I think it's helping people. You put on a bathing suit and you feel good about it. [People are] trying a little harder to keep your good health, your good looks, your good skin, your good hair."
