A maiden Football Ferns call-up for rising Phoenix talent Pia Vlok

Fresh off the first ever hat-trick for the Wellington women in the A-League, the 17-year-old's one of two new faces in the New Zealand squad for upcoming World Cup qualifiers in the Solomon Islands.

Vlok is joined by Newcastle midfielder Charlotte Lancaster - who has three goals in eight games for the Jets this season.

Goalkeeper Maddie Iro is selected as part of the initial squad for the first time after joining as an injury replacement for October's games in Mexico and the USA.
