A push to inspire entrepreneurial Cantabrians

A push to inspire entrepreneurial Cantabrians

Start Me Up is a new programme which aims to promote self employment for those impacted by Covid-19.

An initiative between Christchurch NZ and the Ministry of Social Development, it intends to get people on a path to starting their own business.

Christchurch NZ Regional Growth Manager Simon Anderson says the pandemic has left around seven thousand in the city unemployed.

He says MSD is increasingly keen on supporting self-employment and not just trying to connect people to jobs.
