An Auckland lodge is set to be demolished after a long-running legal battle between the land owner and operator

An Auckland lodge is set to be demolished after a long-running legal battle between the land owner and operator

Peter Van De Wiel was told to vacate the property of Parnell City Lodge in January by the Anglican Diocese of Auckland.

A High Court Judge found his trust owed more than a million dollars in arrears.

Van De Wiel died in May, and the permission to demolish the lodge was granted to the church last week.

The land it sits on has a rateable value of 5.5-million dollars.
