    A person's died on Bay of Plenty's Maketu Beach


    Emergency services were told just after 4 this afternoon that an unresponsive male had washed up on the shoreline.

    Despite immediate medical attention, he was not able to be revived.

    The man's death has been referred to the Coroner.
