Ginny Anderson admits the ban's turned out better than expected - with fears frontline officers would be hurt, proving to be unfounded.
It follows the Police Deputy Commissioner's comments, saying her staff are also pleasantly surprised.
But Anderson says during the time gang regalia was banned, meth use increased 96-percent.
Andersen says it's more important to break down organised crime networks than ban patches.
