A severe thunderstorm warning's been issued for parts of Auckland

A severe thunderstorm warning's been issued for parts of Auckland

Storms have been detected in north-west Auckland.

They're moving in a southeast direction and are expected to bring heavy rain.

MetService is also watching out for storms in Northland and Waikato.

Vector says its crews are doing all they can to reach customers without electricity this evening.

Vector says it's nearing the end of the backlog and aims to have power fully restored tomorrow.
