    The Motor Trade Association says industries are back in the 'driver's seat' - with planned changes to work-place learning


    Vocational Education Minister Penny Simmonds has announced an industry-led structure will replace the centralised model next year.

    MTA Advocacy lead, James McDowall, says Te Pukenga programmes lacked industry input - and didn't keep up with technological change.

    He says challenges vary across sectors - but transport's had a disconnect between what's offered and what's needed.
