A world-first genomic study underway in Canterbury could cut down chemical use in vineyards

Lincoln University research aims to identify natural genetic traits that make grapevines more resistant to disease, reducing the need for fungicides and boosting productivity in the wine sector.
Associate Professor Christopher Winefield says early findings suggest fungicide use could be reduced by up to 80 percent.
