    The large building fire at the old Seaview Hospital and asylum near Hokitika is being treated as suspicious


    Fire and Emergency says the blaze is under control and an appliance and fire investigator are still at the scene.

    They will remain there overnight.

    Crews were sent to the fire just after seven this morning, with residents saying the blaze could be seen from around Hokitika and surrounding areas.

    Police say they are making enquiries.
