Ross Duffer has teased the next volume of Stranger Things is the "most emotional" yet

The co-creator revealed he and brother Matt Duffer have completed production on the next set of episodes of the fifth and final season of the Netflix saga and has teased what fans can expect from chapters 5-7.

Ross wrote on Instagram: "Chapters Five, Six and Seven: locked, mixed, scored, colored... Volume Two is DONE.

"Shock Jock" picks up moments after the end of "Sorcerer". Frank Darabont is back [as director], but he flexes very different muscles on this one than he did on "Turnbow Trap"- it's far darker, and far scarier.

"Escape from Camazotz" is Shawn Levy's return to the director's chair. It's the biggest episode of the three- and the performances make us cry every time we watch it.

"The Bridge"... we co-directed this one with Shawn. Don't want to say too much, but aside from the finale, it's probably the most emotional chapter of the season.

"It's gonna be a long six day wait for the finale...

    "Runtimes to come (sic)"

ex ecutive producer Shawn Levy teased in the comments: "Get ready, Nerds[heart and upside down face emojis] (sic)"

Volume 1 of the final season, which consisted of four episodes, dropped on 26 November and will be followed by the next three on Christmas Day (25.12.25) in the US and the finale on New Year's Eve (31.12.25).

Meanwhile, Jamie Campbell Bower recently reflected on his portrayal of Vecna in this season, noting he regards the villain as a "very considered, calm, powerful figure."

He told Entertainment Weekly: "I felt like I was a wrestler going into the ring, but also having those moments of release, like with the fire.

"Even that little moment when he pushes the flamethrower back, making sure that every single ounce of energy was going into that moment."

And he is excited for a showdown between Vecna and the teens on the show.

He said: "The relationship between Vecna and Eleven, he very much saw them as equals. She was his sister. He genuinely believed that they could build a better world together. Whereas with Will, he's just a toy, he's just a plaything.

"Now it's an irritating byproduct of the fact that he's just a means to an end."
