    Hope that New Zealand hasn't lost its young people forever


    The latest Stats NZ data shows 48-thousand departures from New Zealand to Australia in the year ending June 2025.

    Infometrics Principal Economist Brad Olsen says there are more job opportunities in Australia, and an average higher pay.

    He says there needs to be a plan to convince people to come back to New Zealand.
