    Kim Kardashian West is still "getting used to her new norm" following her split from Kanye West

    The 40-year-old TV star - who has North, seven, Saint, five, Chicago, three, and Psalm, 23 months, with Kanye - confirmed their decision to split earlier this year, and Kim is still adjusting to her new way of life


    A source explained that the brunette beauty "has been doing her best to surround herself with her family and good friends, be social, go out and, of course, take care of her children".

    Speaking to 'Entertainment Tonight', the insider added: "She is focused on making sure her kids are taken care of and protected. But she is definitely still getting used to her new norm."

    Kim officially filed for divorce in February, but according to a source, their relationship ended "a while" before then.

    However, the celebrity duo - who began dating in 2012 and tied the knot in 2014 - are determined to maintain a "positive" relationship for the sake of their children.

    The source explained: "Kim filing for divorce from Kanye is just a formal part of the process.

    "The couple has been done for a while and have been amicable for a while. At the end of the day, Kanye and Kim love each other immensely but knew it was time to call it quits. Their children are their number one priority and no matter what will maintain a positive relationship for them."

    Similarly, Kris Jenner recently insisted that kids should always be the number one priority amid any divorce.

    The showbiz matriarch - who has been married two times, to Caitlyn Jenner and the late Robert Kardashian - shared: "I think the most important thing I learned through my experience - both of my experiences - is that the kids come first."
