Police are still asking for CCTV footage of the area where Stephen Thorpe died on Saturday - with a man now arrested

A 26-year-old man has been charged with murder, after the violent attack on the scientist in the Blockhouse Bay tennis club car park.

He was taken into custody near the scene.

Detective Inspector Glenn Baldwin says they're now piecing together all the information - for the judicial process.

He says they still need anyone with information or CCTV to get in touch.

Officers still remain in the community canvassing the area.
