Visitors to Te Anau are being reminded of the town's 24/7 ban on alcohol over Christmas and New Years

Visitors to Te Anau are being reminded of the town's 24/7 ban on alcohol over Christmas and New Years

Police are expecting an influx of visitors, ahead of the Fiordland Rotary Club's New Years Eve event, and is working to ensure people stay safe.

Area Response Manager Senior Sergeant Peter Graham, says anyone breaching the 24/7 ban around the Town Centre area will be liable for a fine.

Police are also encouraging those celebrating to enjoy the night but, look after themselves, on top of their zero-tolerance approach to violence and disorderly behaviour.
