From sparring in the ring to fighting for an international belt

Cruiserweight boxer David Nyika will look to become a world champion in his 11th professional bout, when he challenges IBF titleholder Jai Opetaia on the Gold Coast this evening.

Nyika opted to take the fight on three weeks' notice, when the original challenger was injured.

His trainer Noel Thornberry reveals some details about the pair's past practice duels.

The main card begins at 9pm, with Nyika and Opetaia set to walk to the ring closer to midnight.
