Britney Spears is "forever making changes" to her biopic

The 43-year-old pop superstar is to have her life documented on the big screen in the form of a film helmed by 'Wicked' director Jon M. Chu but an insider has claimed that even though there are "a lot of ideas" going around, she is forever making changes on the project at this early stage in its production

A source told The Sun: "Britney's biopic is in the early stages of development and there have been a lot of ideas bandied around.

"As soon as it feels like they're moving in one direction though, Britney will take it in another.

"Her manager is an ex ecutive producer on the film and is doing his best to put those ideas across, but it feels like it's an ever-changing project at the moment with no clear direction."

Just weeks ago, Jon admitted that the 'Toxic' hitmaker was "very involved" in the film but nothing had really got off the ground just yet.

He told 'Entertainment Tonight' "She [Britney] is going to be very involved.

"We haven't really started anything yet; but she will be very involved.

"I have ideas and an approach and things, but it's very, very early."

Britney grew up in rural Kentwood, Louisana and after starring in an Off-Broadway production of 'Ruthless!' in 1992, she landed a part on 'The All-New Mickey Mouse Club' alongside Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake.

In 1998, she launched her pop music career with '...Baby One More Time' and went on to release five studio albums before suffering a number of personal problems, and in 2008 was placed under a conservatorship that gave her immediate family control over her multimillion-dollar fortune and various aspects of her life.

The arrangement was reversed in 2021, and Britney published her memoir 'The Woman in Me' two years later.

Britney teased last August that she was working with producer Marc Platt on a "secret project" moments before the biopic was announced.

Universal won the film rights to her 2023 autobiography, and Jon admitted that landing the job as director of the project was a thrill as he grew up a Britney fan.

He said: "I watched Britney before she was a solo act, when she was one of 12 acts at some radio station thing at The Shrine Auditorium.

"I've loved her for many years. I've seen over seven concerts, which probably isn't a lot compared to other people."

Britney said on Instagram that it was "flattering to be in such good company with Jon M Chu" while making a gag about the format of her biopic.

She added: "The project I might be doing isn't a biopic story... it's a fictional musical where I play an extremely intelligent character !!!"
