Candace Cameron Bure has warned that it will be a "long time for recovery" following the LA wildfires

The 48-year-old actress has spoken out in the weeks following the disaster that swept across Pacific Palisades - which destroyed thousands of properties, killed at least 29 people, and forced tens of thousands to evacuate their homes - and is just trying to do all she can to help those who were affected by the tragedy

She told Fox News Digital: "It's been so hard, and I have so many friends that lived in the Palisades that lost their homes. It's going to be a journey. It's going to be a long time for recovery. In the meantime, the community has come together, and we're all doing what we can to help."

The former 'Full House' star is not in California now as she is away working on a project but she is still making sure to touch base with everyone at home and has found "beauty" in the way that communities have rallied together.

She said: "Even though I'm not in Los Angeles right now, I'm filming a movie. I'm still in touch with everyone, still have a store that's open to gather great items for our families that have lost everything. And we're going to continue to do that. I think that's the beauty about a community, and Los Angeles has really come together to help."

Meanwhile, Candace has always been open about her Christian faith and is pleased to see that her fellow celebrities seem to be "a little less afraid of being cancelled" whenever they share their beliefs.

She said: "I feel like people are just a little less afraid of being cancelled now that they can share their faith openly or whatever their opinions are [even] if they're not congruent with some other people's opinions.

"And, so, I love seeing this in our country, and I'm hopeful. I'm very hopeful.
