State Highway One between Turangi and Rangipo has reopened today

State Highway One between Turangi and Rangipo has reopened today

The Desert Road's partial reopening allows people in light vehicles to use the road up to the State Highway One and 46 intersection.

It's been shut since the start of January while NZTA rebuilt and repaired 16 kilometres of road.

Maintenance and Operations Regional Manager Roger Brady says remaining maintenance work is progressing well and is on track to be completed by mid-March.
