South Sydney Rabbitohs coach Wayne Bennett has applauded Latrell Mitchell's return from injury during their 20-14 win over the Sydney Roosters in the NRL

After losing their halves combination during the contest due to hamstring injuries, Mitchell would move into the playmaker role and set up the game-winning try in the 70th minute.

Bennett is pleased with Mitchell's effort in his first game of the season.



Elsewhere, the North Queensland Cowboys took down the Penrith Panthers 22-18 in Sydney.
