Optimism is on the rise in Canterbury and across the country - but resilience is starting to wear thin

Business Canterbury's latest survey shows 75 percent of businesses are expecting things to improve next year.

ANZ's latest survey also shows national business confidence at an 11-year high.

But Business Canterbury Chief Executive Leeann Watson says business leaders are worried about their ability to cope with any further economic disruptions.

She says the business community needs certainty, consistency and conditions that help turn confidence into productivity.
