There's still no sign of more Queensland fruit flies, after a single male fly was found in Auckland

A biosecurity operation was launched in Auckland on Wednesday, after the pest was caught in a Mt Roskill surveillance trap.

So far, Biosecurity NZ haven't found another fly, but will continue to checking traps, collecting fruit and picking up waste from bins for safe disposal.

Legal restrictions on moving fruit and vegetables out of the area, are still in force.

Auckland Council has also restricted food-scrap collections in parts of Mt Roskill, until further notice. 01-10-26 1138
