Tom Silvagni files application to appeal rape conviction

Lawyers for convicted rapist Tom Silvagni, the son of AFL great Stephen Silvagni and TV personality Jo Silvagni, have filed an application for leave to appeal.

Lawyers for convicted rapist Tom Silvagni have filed an application for leave to appeal.

In December, the 23 year old was sentenced to six years and two months in jail by the County Court of Victoria after he was convicted of two counts of rape.

His parents, AFL great Stephen Silvagni and TV personality Jo Silvagni, had previously flagged they would be investigating appeal options.

A spokesperson for Victoria's Supreme Court today confirmed the documents had been lodged with the Court of Appeal.
