Timothee Chalamet picked up his first Golden Globe Award on Sunday (11.01.26)

The four-time nominee was triumphant in the Best Male Actor in a Musical or Comedy category thanks to his work on Marty Supreme and he was delighted to beat Leonardo DiCaprio (One Battle After Another), George Clooney, (Jay Kelly), Ethan Hawke, (Blue Moon), Lee Byung-hun (No Other Choice) and Jesse Plemons (Bugonia) in the "stacked" category.

He said: "This category is stacked. I look up to all of you."

Timothee thanked the cast, his parents and partner Kylie Jenner, as well as writer-director Josh Safdie, who he expressed his gratitude "for this role".

He added: "Thank you for believing in me, thank you for this portrait, for your mind, for your worldview."

    The 30-year-old star then gave a shout-out to co-star Kevin O'Leary.

He quipped: "If you would have told me when I was 19 years old that I'd be thanking Mr. Wonderful from Shark Tank - all right, you're laughing, so I got away with that, thank you Kevin.

"I would have been stunned, but I'm very grateful."

Elsewhere, Rose Byrne admitted her win in the Best Female Actor in a Musical or Comedy category came as "such a shock".

Despite her performance in If I Had Legs I'd Kick You being hotly tipped to take the prize ahead of Cynthia Erivo (Wicked: For Good), Kate Hudson (Song Sung Blue), Chase Infiniti (One Battle After Another), Amanda Seyfried (The Testament of Ann Lee) and Emma Stone (Bugonia),the Australian star was visibly stunned to be called to the podium.

She said: "Of course I didn't prepare anything. I didn't sing in this movie. Thank you so much. This is such a shock!

"Thanks so much to my parents for getting Paramount+ so they can watch in Sydney!"

Rose paid tribute to writer-director Mary Bronstein.

She said: "She wrote this unbelievable screenplay and she wanted me to do it, and I can't believe you wanted me to do it....We shot this movie in 25 days for like $8.50. This is a tiny film so this is a huge thing to be up here."

The actress ended her speech with an explanation as to why her brother was her date for the night, rather than husband Bobby Cannavale.

She said: "I want to thank my husband, Bobby Cannavale, who couldn't be here because we are getting a bearded dragon and he went to a reptile expo in New Jersey."
