    A sharp drop in alcohol production last year - although spirits had a small lift


    Stats NZ data shows the total volume of all alcoholic beverages made fell 8.3 percent in 2025.

    Beer was down 10 percent, and wine down 11.

    Spirit production rose 1.3 percent.
